Free Admission to Windsor Castle

International Day of Persons With Disabilities (IDPD) takes place annually on 03 December. The day aims to promote the rights & well-being of disabled people across society & raise awareness of disability in every aspect of political, social, economic & cultural life.

Disability Awareness
November 16th – December 16th is UK Disability History Awareness Month. Did you know that the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead has lead the way in some key programmes to increase our focus on Disability Awareness and Inclusion?
Sir Nicholas Winton
Former resident of Maidenhead, Sir Nicholas Winton, was born in London in May 1909 to Jewish parents who had emigrated to Britain. This local hero was known as the 'British Schindler'; his actions led to the rescue of 669 children, most of whom were Jewish, from the hands of the Nazis just before World War II. His fascinating story is now the subject of a film, One Life, which is released in UK cinemas on 1 January 2024. There are several places in Maidenhead to visit, in recognition of Sir Nicholas’s amazing achievements.

On Tuesday of this week, MyRoyalBorough hosted another Business Networking Event, attended by over 50 small local businesses from within the Royal Borough – we welcomed back several regulars and were happy to meet plenty of new faces too.
