We all know that there are plentiful choices of lovely places to eat out in Cookham over the festive period; there are restaurants, cafes and pubs to suit all tastes and budgets - and for those preferring to cook at home over Christmas, there all also some wonderful ways to make festive meals that extra special and indulgent – thanks to the variety of amazing artisan producers in Cookham.

International Day of Persons With Disabilities (IDPD) takes place annually on 03 December. ‍The day aims to promote the rights & well-being of disabled people across society & raise awareness of disability in every aspect of political, social, economic & cultural life.

Let's all get behind Cookham businesses and support them through this festive period, which will be more challenging than usual, while Cookham Bridge is closed for essential bridge repair work.

November 16th – December 16th is UK Disability History Awareness Month. Did you know that the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead has lead the way in some key programmes to increase our focus on Disability Awareness and Inclusion?  

Former resident of Maidenhead, Sir Nicholas Winton, was born in London in May 1909 to Jewish parents who had emigrated to Britain. This local hero was known as the 'British Schindler'; his actions led to the rescue of 669 children, most of whom were Jewish, from the hands of the Nazis just before World War II. His fascinating story is now the subject of a film, One Life, which is released in UK cinemas on 1 January 2024. There are several places in Maidenhead to visit, in recognition of Sir Nicholas’s amazing achievements.

On Tuesday of this week, MyRoyalBorough hosted another Business Networking Event, attended by over 50 small local businesses from within the Royal Borough – we welcomed back several regulars and were happy to meet plenty of new faces too.

If you’re a small business in The Royal Borough this is your chance to have your say in plans over the coming years. RBWM is holding early conversations to help shape a new strategy that will set out refreshed priorities for the council and the place it serves – and the council wants to hear from the business community to inform this vision.
